On Thursday, June 28, Colorado members of Women Writing the
West convened at The Bistro at Aspen Grove, formerly Café de France, off of
Santa Fe Drive in Littleton. About
twelve people were able to attend and enjoy lunch and conversation while
getting caught up on the latest member news and writing projects. Some of the
participants are shown here in photographs.

We had two brand new WWW members who were able to join us,
Angela La Voie and Ellen Fisher.
Linda Wommack was on the ball and invited them when she found out the
newly registered WWW members lived in the area. We were so pleased to meet them
in a casual setting, and to Linda Wommack for organizing the gathering and
making it happen.
Some members left early for other commitment. Doris McCraw
returned to Colorado Springs with Joyce Lohse following the same route. Doris
and Joyce were honored that afternoon at a book launch at Penrose Library. The newly
published book, Film and Photography on
the Front Range, includes chapters by Joyce and Doris, which they presented
a year ago at the Pikes Peak Library History Symposium. It was a welcome
celebration during a time in which Colorado Springs was suffering from smoke
and ashes created by devastating forest fires encroaching the west side of the
city.

Thanks for posting these, Joyce, and thanks to Linda for organizing. It was a great gathering.
